Buildings, membranes and composite structures need to control airtightness and vapour flow if they are to meet current practices and standards.  The only way of ensuring this is by testing them, especially for structures with multiple components.  Traditionally this is expensive and can take weeks, but with the latest product range from Versaperm this is much faster and less costly.

Unusually, Versaperm’s permeability meters range can measure the permeability of anything from a vapour barrier to a complete wall structure, including laminates, paints, timber, roofing felts, adhesives, building boards, mastics and other sealing or structural materials. Additionally, together with the new sensors and design features, the equipment can optionally give results not just for water vapour but for virtually any gas – including CO2, hydrocarbons, oxygen etc. Results are typically accurate in the parts per million range.

The transmission flow of air and moisture directly can affect the “health” of both the structure and of the people who live or work inside.  Moisture build-up has been linked to dust mites, asthma, allergies and the sicknesses that sweep around the workforce.

Versaperm is a world-technology leader and offers not just equipment but also a fast turn-around building products lab testing service.  Tests and results can be produced within 24 hours for some gases, products and composite wall, floor or roof structures.
